CLP, safety, ingredients & allergens
At Moony Flames, transparency, safety and care are a natural part of our craft. On this page, we’ve gathered information about CLP labelling, ingredients, allergens and how to use our scented candles and wax melts safely.
CLP labelling – what does it mean?
All scented candles and wax melts sold within the EU must be labelled according to the CLP regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging). The label indicates whether the product contains substances that may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
A CLP label does not mean the product is dangerous when used correctly — it means it complies with legislation and provides clear, transparent information about its contents.
Ingredients & materials
All scented candles and wax melts from Moony Flames are hand-poured in small batches in Småland, Sweden. We use:
- vegan soy wax or rapeseed and coconut wax
- carefully selected fragrance oils approved under EU regulations
- cotton or wooden wicks free from prohibited substances
Our fragrance oils are specifically developed for use in candles and scent products and are used within recommended safety levels.
Allergens & fragrance sensitivity
Both natural and synthetic fragrance oils may contain allergens. These are always listed on the CLP label in accordance with EU legislation.
If you are:
- fragrance-sensitive
- prone to allergies
- pregnant
- or have asthma
we recommend:
- choosing milder scents
- using candles in well-ventilated spaces
- avoiding prolonged direct exposure
